Public Sector & NGOs

Introduction

Since 2010, SatADSL is positioning itself as a major player in the economic and social development of Africa. SatADSL acts as a catalyst to implement projects of public authorities. SatADSL is active in the sectors of defense, post offices, education, health, justice, social security, and other public service sectors. SatADSL designs effective and adapted solutions that meet the criteria of all stakeholders: local governments deploying services, international donors (World Bank, UNICEF…), and the beneficiary populations.

Applications

Local Municipalities and Embassies

Challenge

Local municipalities and embassies are more often than not located beyond the reach of terrestrial networks or in places without reliable Internet access. This makes it impossible for them to fulfill their mission or to work effectively.

Solution

SatADSL designs a solution that allows local municipalities and embassies to exchange data with parties around the world and bridge the digital divide. The SatADSL two-way network makes daily tasks easy, including sending email, updating databases, web browsing or videoconferencing. In addition, the SatADSL expertise allows the administrator to encrypt (and thus secure) the channel and attribute a higher priority to the exchange of critical information.

Schools, Hospitals, Religious Institutions

Challenge

Being located in areas with poor or non-existent terrestrial network services deprives schools, universities, churches, and hospitals of an essential tool:  the Internet.

Solution

SatADSL offers a solution to bridge the digital divide. The SatADSL two-way network supports services like videoconferencing and instant messaging. Schools and universities, for example, can expand their educational and training programs around the world. In addition, a variety of up-to-date educational material becomes accessible at any time and at a lower cost (please also refer to the “E-learning Solution”).

Armed Forces

Challenge

Armed forces typically need communication in extreme conditions. They not only have tactical needs within the theater of operations, but military bases also need telecommunications infrastructure for the well-being of the soldiers: phone calls to family, connecting to social networks, watching movies online.

Solution

SatADSL offers a solution that meets these specific needs: a hotspot that can manage the connectivity needs of a base hosting a garrison of several hundred soldiers.

Post Offices

Challenge

When post offices want to improve their productivity and increase their offer to end users spread across a large geographical area, they need an affordable and reliable Internet connection.

Solution

SatADSL offers a turnkey solution allowing a network of remote branches to get an IP connection. This allows them to increase productivity and performance with a distributed workforce. The SatADSL solution also includes complementary services, such as VoIP, to improve daily transactions and allow for better information communication and worldwide operations.

NGOs

Challenge

NGOs have demanding operational requirements but typically work in areas where traditional connectivity solutions are rarely available. Their staff members also need communication for personal use.

Solution

SatADSL offers a solution that meets these specific needs: a hotspot that can manage the connectivity needs of a base hosting up to several hundred staff members.
